OVERVIEW
Under limited supervision provides high quality, friendly and outgoing customer service to the golfing public, perform assigned golf operational activities, and perform other duties as required.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Establishes excellent customer relations and ensures the highest quality of customer service to the golfing public
- Starting functions such as taking reservations and assigning the play of golfers
- Collects fees; operates cash register/POS system and processes payments
- Trains and assists new hires
- Enforces all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course, golf carts and other golf facilities
- May represent the course in professional golf activities as needed
- Ability to work weekends and/or holidays
- Becomes acquainted with members and other frequent golfers and maintains positive rapport with members and guests
- Operates / utilizes a variety of equipment and tools (i.e. computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, telephone, golf cart, golf clubs, etc.)
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals (i.e. immediate supervisor, other staff, subordinates, customers, sales representatives, tournament committee members, and the general public)
- Assists with monthly inventory and other administrative/office duties as needed
- All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the game of golf and its rules and regulations; golf facilities and equipment; golf course promotion and marketing; basic computer operations
- Computer skills, use of point of sale system
- Previous cash handling experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be reliable, dependable, professional and trustworthy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication
- Service and customer focused attitude
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous golf course operations experience preferred
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION (In absence of GM/Head Golf Professional and Assistant GM)
Pro Shop Attendants, Cart / Range Attendant, Starters/Rangers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. On a continuous basis, sit or stand for long periods of time; use a telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; and lift or carry weight of 25 pounds or less.
