PRN Developmental Specialist Wanted
PRN-Child Development Specialists
Simmons Early Intervention Therapy (SEIT) is a well-established pediatric therapy company that provides services for young children. SEIT services help young children grow and develop while supporting their families in caring for them. Our mission to put the child FIRST has led to a strong relationship with various community partners and we are looking for a Child Development Specialists to assist us on a weekly As Needed basis. This position will require therapist to travel to different locations over Wayne, Lenoir, Wilson, Johnston, Nash, and Edgecombe Counties to fill in the gaps of needed services. Expected weekly hours could range from 20-50 hours per week. Children and locations within the above counties may vary from week to week.
The ChildDevelopment Specialist works with children ages birth to 5 years old to assist with delays in development. Specialists at Simmons Early Intervention Therapy work with the child in his/her natural environment providing activities that incorporate “play” with skill-building to enable the child to achieve goals. Our Development Specialists use Child Development knowledge to help the child learn and grow so they are more on target with childhood developmental milestones.
Requirements of the job include:
-Day Shift Hours MON-FRI 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (REQUIRED AVAILABILITY)
-Reliable Transportation and working cell phone
- Specialists will assist children with accomplishing goals that may address language delays, fine/gross motor delays, social-emotional problems, behaviors, etc.
- Responsible for developing creative play to accomplish the goals outlined in the child’s goal plan
- Will work with the parents/guardians to to provide techniques to assist child
- Specialists provide services to children in their natural environment which may include the home, day care center, park, outings, etc.
- Specialists will need to have a lively and playful personality to continuously engage the child throughout the session.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a Bachelors Degree or higher in Birth-Kindergarten Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, Counseling, Human Development, Family Relations, Family Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work.
- Experience working with children 0-5 years old.
- Experience with special needs population or children with delays or behavior challenges is a plus!
- We are looking for a team player who has a passion for helping children with special needs and go-getter attitude.
- Must be dependable, independent, organized, good communication skills, and caring.
Position is a contracted position with hours ranging from 20+ hours per week depending on the available caseload within the agency and the developmental specialists caseload. Children are granted various hours of service per week depending on the child’s needs.

SEIT is looking for Child Development Specialists who can serve Wayne, Lenoir, Wilson, Johnston, Nash, and Edgecombe Counties on a weekly as needed basis.
