Summary

A family in Richmond’s West End is looking to hire a full-time nanny for their happy seven-month-old son on a full-time basis starting ASAP.

Seeking an experienced professional nanny with significant infant experience and knowledge on relevant infant/toddler milestones. The nanny must be cheerful and have a creative approach toward learning through play and helping the baby to reach his milestones.

Both parents work from home and there are two friendly large dogs and would like to find a nanny who is comfortable with this arrangement.

Hours Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Fridays 8am to 12 noon

Total # of hours per week 44 approx.

Preferred start dateASAP

Compensation $22-$25

Paid time off: 10 days paid vacation, plus holidays and sick pay

Nanny car provided Yes at some point when the infant is ready to go out to local activities

Responsibilities

• · Always follow parents’ specific instructions with regard to every aspect of childcare for the infant.
• Be attentive to the child’s needs ensuring his health, well-being, and safety are top priorities.
• Be engaging, nurturing, and warm.
• Take care of the baby’s basic needs, including diaper changing, keeping clean, bottle feedings, putting down for naps, cuddling, dressing appropriately for the weather and bathing if needed, etc.
• When time and weather allow, go for walks in the neighborhood
• As he gets older and is ready for local outings the nanny will use the family car to accompany him to the park, library, children;s museum etc.
• Create a stimulating and nurturing environment, including activities such as reading picture books, floor play and tummy time, music and lots of talking to stimulate his language development and desire to communicate.
• Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child’s needs.
• Keep a daily log of activities
• Prepare the baby’s meals and milk, washing dishes and bottles thoroughly.
• Help with the baby’s laundry and put clothes away
• Keep infant areas clean and tidy throughout the day, including keeping the diaper changing area clean and stocked, sweeping the kitchen floor, keeping surfaces clean, sanitizing toys, and keeping them tidy and organized.

Skills and qualities requirements

• A minimum of two to three years of childcare experience backed up with strong checkable references
• A minimum of one year’s nanny experience within the past three years
• Minimum of 2 years infant care experience.
• Must be willing to pass background and driving records checks
• Trustworthy, reliable, and honest
• Nurturing, patient, and calm with a positive and willing disposition
• Certificates in CPR/First Aid
• Legal US resident
• Min. 21 years old
• Non-smoker
• Ability to play, organize and multi-task with minimal supervision
• Able to swim

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
