We are looking for a dedicated Groundskeeper / Handyman to care for and maintain a significant property, embodying our commitment to excellence and respect for our environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the interior and exterior spaces meet our high standards, providing a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and welcoming atmosphere for all who visit and reside here. Your efforts will contribute to the property's beauty, functionality, and harmony.
YOUR JOB
Groundskeeping
- To maintain an established and visually appealing landscape, perform meticulous lawn care, including mowing and trimming around flower beds, walkways, and walls.
- Operate and maintain various equipment and tools, such as vehicles, mowers, trimmers, saws, and rakes, focusing on safety and environmental care.
- Engage in comprehensive bed and lawn maintenance tasks like weeding, fertilizing, watering, and mulching, applying a thoughtful approach to promote plant health and soil integrity.
- Maintain and troubleshoot an extensive 2-wire sprinkler system, including pumps and filters, to ensure efficient water use and plant vitality. Digging and replacing PVC water piping, valves, couplings, and sprinkler heads is required.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers judiciously, committing to following best practices for environmental safety and plant care. Maintain accurate records of applications.
- Conduct regular cleaning tasks, such as litter removal and gutter cleaning, viewing each task as essential to the property's well-being.
- Participate in the planning and executing of landscaping projects, including planting, pruning, and installing hardscape elements, bringing creativity and sustainability into each decision. This included, from time to time, removing and relaying sod.
- Other duties as assigned.
Maintenance
- Undertake various light maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general repairs, applying a detail-oriented approach to ensure safety and functionality.
- Demonstrate basic carpentry and HVAC skills, ready to address issues proactively and efficiently to preserve the integrity of the property.
- Exhibit solid decision-making and problem-solving skills and excellent customer service to respond to needs and challenges with thoughtful solutions and a positive attitude.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
It may involve supervising subcontractors for specialized projects, ensuring work is completed to our standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
A strong sense of personal responsibility, integrity, and pride in your work, with the ability to carry out duties effectively and thoughtfully.
Capable of working independently or as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to excellence.
Must be physically able to handle the job's demands, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Must have and maintain a current Driver’s license with a clean record.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated positions.
- Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours based on weather demands.
- This very physically demanding job requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting and kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Lifting of up to 65 lbs.
- Extended workdays may be required to accomplish tasks and meet workload demands during peak periods.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
