Privacy Professional (Remote)

Full time, US (Central or Eastern Time Zone)

 

BCD Travel is looking to hire a qualified Privacy Professional meeting the below specifications. The primary emphasis for this position will be to support the BCD Travel Privacy Team in providing service-oriented, business-minded assistance in connection with data privacy matters. The position may be virtual or office-based where BCD Travel has a presence.

 

As a Privacy Professional, you will

• Advise internal colleagues with respect to all matters pertaining to data privacy to promote compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including any applicable data protection laws given the global nature of BCD Travel’s business
• Review, draft, and negotiate data privacy terms in client and vendor agreements, including, but not limited to, data processing agreements, transfer agreements, and standard contractual clauses
• Monitor changes in laws, regulations, trends, discussions, and best business practices related to data privacy and communicate internally, proposing risk mitigation strategies and changes to our policies and guidelines accordingly
• Work with legal, privacy, and other staff on privacy assessments
• Advise internal staff based on privacy policies, procedures, and strategies
• Advise on privacy issues related to new products and services
• Potentially serve as a primary privacy resource to a key customer

About you

• Legal background with extensive experience advising on data protection laws, including an understanding of any applicable data protection laws given the global nature of BCD Travel’s business
• Relevant privacy certification (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPP/US) or equivalent is a plus
• A law degree is a plus, but not required
• Ability to translate the legal data protection obligations in the context of the services BCD Travel provides
• Detail-oriented and a skilled draftsperson
• Good command of English
• Ability to interact directly with internal colleagues, proposing practical and creative solutions to complex business issues and providing pragmatic risk assessments
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and organizations with a diverse group of colleagues at all levels
• A good sense of humor and be a team player who will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and collegial atmosphere
• Experience with OneTrust or a similar platform is an asset
• Experience in the travel industry preferred, but not required
• Ability to travel if necessary

At BCD Travel we value you, our culture and success is defined by you. We carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your professional background and experience. The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Privacy Professional is between $95,000 and $125,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
