About the Position: As an Underwriter at Payzli, you will play a crucial role in our mission to deliver top-tier payment solutions. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will be at the forefront of assessing, analyzing, and approving merchant accounts. Your role is vital in ensuring the integrity and security of our operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive reviews and analyses of merchant applications.
• Solid grasp of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-money laundering (AML) rules
• Strong ability to review and assess personal and business credit bureaus
• Ability to perform financial statement analysis
• Assessing risk and determining the appropriate level of security for account approvals.
• Offering well-founded recommendations regarding merchant account applications.
• Collaborating seamlessly with internal teams and external partners on merchant-related matters.
• Responding promptly and effectively to inquiries and requests from customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Collecting and managing data for accurate reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma minimum, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in the payment industry, with a focus on underwriting, or equivalent underwriting experience level in the mortgage or insurance industry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with merchant processing platforms and applications.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and research capabilities.
• Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Autonomous work ethic, comfortable in a digitally connected environment.
