Prior Authorization Coordinator

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that treatments are approved by insurance companies. Your knowledge of insurance verification and managed care will be essential in navigating the Prior Authorization process.

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze medical records to determine the need for Prior Authorization

- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients

- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information for Prior Authorization requests

- Complete and submit Prior Authorization forms accurately and in a timely manner

- Follow up on pending Prior Authorization requests to ensure timely resolution

- Maintain accurate documentation of all Prior Authorization activities

- Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance policies, coding guidelines, and HIPAA regulations

Skills:

- Proficient in insurance verification processes and managed care guidelines

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
