Job description

Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position.
The State Water Resources Control Board's Division of Drinking Water has an opening for a Principal Water Resource Control Engineer (Principal WRCE) in the Southern California Branch of the Division of Drinking Water Field Operations Branch. The position is located at 464 W. 4th Street, Room 437, San Bernardino, 2 MacArthur Place, Suite 150, Santa Ana, .500 North Central Ave, Suite 500, Glendale or 2375 Northside Drive, Suite 100, San Diego.
Duties:
The Principal WRCE supervises, organizes and directs the work of two sections and ten District Offices in Southern California Field Operations Branch in the Division of Drinking Water. The Principal WRCE Plans, organizes, and directs the work of staff who implement the regulatory and permitting aspects of the Drinking Water program as the lead manager of the Southern California Field Operations Branch. • Background and experience with drinking water regulations and practices in the design, plan review, inspection, permitting, compliance and report preparation related to drinking water treatment and distribution systems.
• Experience with committees to develop drinking water regulations and/or guidance documents.
• Leadership and team building experience as a supervisor of technical staff or in a leadership capacity on a project team.

Statement of Qualifications
A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with the State Application and serves as documentation of candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.
