Principal Solutions Architect, Strategic - SA Account

As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Principal Solutions Architect within the Strategic Accounts segment, you are responsible for partnering with our most valuable customers to design cloud architectures utilizing AWS services. In this role, you will help our customers solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing products/services to the market or building an elastic, scalable, cost optimized application. You will engage with product owners to influence product direction and help our customers tap into new markets by utilizing AWS Services. You will also look for patterns and trends that can be broadly applied across an industry segment or a set of customers that can help accelerate innovation. Along the way, you will get the opportunity to enhance your own body of knowledge and have some fun.
With this role, you will have deep expertise in one or more technology domains across databases and analytics. The role will allow you to focus on database and analytics services and technologies on AWS, including and not limited to Aurora, Relational Database Service (RDS), DynamoDB, Redshift, Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Spark, Elasticache, Elasticsearch, and Kinesis.
As a core member of the account team, you will drive revenue growth across a specific customer. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand and implement advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and scale existing workloads in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.
For this role, we are looking for folks who have technical breadth complimented by technical depth in one or two areas, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the business value of the AWS platform and services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for engaging with Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, Cloud Architects, Directors, VP's and CXOs.

Key job responsibilities
- Ensure customer success in designing, building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
- Expertise in designing, developing, implementing, and running mission critical systems for workloads including high performance transaction processing , or real-time analytics, or data warehousing, or other data driven applications
- Collaborate with our customer, partners, and AWS engineering teams to solve for enterprise problems like Database Migrations, Data warehousing, Real time analytics, Operational analytics, and Big data processing on the cloud
- Lead deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS while ensuring solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
- Be an AWS evangelist. Educate all levels of the organization within your customer on the value proposition of AWS.
- Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, blogs, and proof of concepts
- In partnership with the sales team, formulate, and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
- Build deep relationships with the C-suite and senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
- Develop and communicate a clear data strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders
