Prompted by our aggressive growth goals and exciting new office location, Mott MacDonald expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With several recent wins and a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Principal Project Manager with group leadership opportunities. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC offices; the existing location in the high-energy Seaboard District and an additional larger, brand-new office on NC State's Centennial Campus opening later this year.

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
- BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional registration preferred (not required)
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is a plus
- 10-15 years' experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferred
- Traffic analysis and microsimulation experience preferred
- Traffic forecasting experience preferred
- Travel demand modeling experience a plus
- Signal design, signal timing plan development, signing plan development, and/or traffic control experience a plus
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
- NEPA experience is a plus
- Experience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, GIS, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, TransModeler, Synchro, TransCAD, etc.)
Job Description

With several recent wins and a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Principal Project Manager with group leadership opportunities. Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:
- Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic and Transportation
- Provide leadership and supervision to a traffic engineering group
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles and analyses required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
- Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of projects
- Demonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
- Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
- Deliver technical projects and reports
- Recruit and develop junior technical staff
- Develop and prepare technical bids and proposals
- Develop and maintain client relationships
