Job Overview:
Lummus Technology is currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our Technology Engineering team. This position will supervise and lead the process efforts of engineering design for projects, proposals and studies. It will also contribute to continuous improvement of a technical area and take the initiative in making decisions within established procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Organizes, tracks and prepares summary reports, job documentation and job material as required.
- Responsible for leading major project team or task force
- Reviews and approves project design documentation.
- Leads kick-off meetings, client review meetings, plant start-ups and performance test run as required.
- Trains subordinates in the use of process tools and procedures as well as technology
- Supervises the process team and coordinates with other disciplines, as required.
- Supervises the preparation of reports and Supervisory Operating Manuals
- Answers operating and production questions after start-up/test run.
- Responsible for reviews and follow-up during the detailed engineering work cycle
- Presents at conferences and trade shows, customer meetings and internal presentations.
- Fosters Innovation
- Creates new or existing technology improvements (i.e., patent)
- Creates new or improved work processes for better execution efficiency
- Publishes or presents a technical paper at an industry forum
- Identifies new concepts and leads technical development that expands the company’s capabilities
- Ability to influence or persuade colleagues, management and clients on technical resolutions and new ideas
- Takes initiative in making progressively harder decisions outside established procedures and with greater inherent risk
- Takes charge in an area whether assigned or not. Provides guidance and accepts responsibility in area of expertise
- Project assignment, internal or external, is expanding in variety and complexity

- Customer/industry contacts are established and used effectively to promote customer satisfaction.
- Uses and promotes the principles of Quality as an integral part of the work process including Lummus’ QMS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or similar field
- 15 years relevant experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Chemical Engineering disciplines
- Expertise in at least one technical specialty
- Working knowledge of industry specifications and standards including CMS
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Interacts successfully with internal and external clients in all areas of expertise.
- Ability to make technical presentations.
- Ability to supervise team members and to advise and mentor in areas of expertise.
- Ability to travel and lead field assignments.
- Ability to take initiative in making decisions in areas of technical expertise.
- Ability to initiate/implement new projects.
- Ability to introduce new tools and knowledge.
- Ability to supervise and schedule the work effort of a project team.
