About McKinley School:
McKinley is home to our neighborhood elementary program. McKinley is also home our Burlingame Elementary district-wide Spanish Dual Language Immersion program. McKinley School opened in 1913 as Burlingame Grammar School and has been a vibrant part of the Burlingame community ever since. Currently, McKinley serves a culturally and linguistically diverse student population reflecting the richness of its community. There are 25 primary languages other than English spoken by McKinley students, with Spanish being the most prevalent. Thus, special emphasis is placed upon creating a school environment that encourages students to explore and appreciate our cultural and linguistic diversity.
McKinley is also home to the Burlingame School District Spanish Dual Immersion Program, a two-way bilingual immersion learning opportunity that enables students to become fully bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
