GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Principal Engineer, Cellular RF Systems is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of cellular radio frequency (RF) systems. They will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop and maintain cellular RF systems for various wireless products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Requirements/Qualifications
• Master's degree with 12+ years or PhD with 5 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, communication area or related field preferred.
• In-depth understanding of 3GPP 5G/4G NR and ORAN standards
• Product development experience based on 5G-NR/4G Layer 1 specifications.
• Strong understanding of ORAN C/U/S/M specifications
• In depth understanding of physical layer channels and procedures and Layer 2/Layer 3 functions and protocol flow in 3GPP 5G NR specifications.
• Ability to analyze difficult L1 problems, debug and fix issues related to throughput, measurements, and DRX.
• Experienced in system test plan and test setup development.
• Interface with software/firmware engineers for implementation. Provides system knowledge and specification to assist in software development.
• Knowledge of L1 signal processing and mMIMO and implementation
• Knowledge of L1 signal processing and mMIMO and implementation
• Provide system level simulation and modeling of various RF impairments and link performance
• Provide test plan/vectors and assist in overall chip level verification
• Ability to take ownership and bring innovations in development of commercial base station software.
• Excellent understanding of protocol stack from Layer 1 (Physical Layer).
• Good understand functionality related to Layer 2 (MAC/RLC/PDCP) and Layer 3 (RRC).
• Good understanding with HW abstraction Layer / DSP.
• Good understanding of Xeon platform and RT kernel and accelerator
• Experience with (R&S/Viavi) test equipment and software for Layer 1 test.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
Salary range: $170,000- $276,923
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate degree (M.B.A., M.A., etc.), plus 8 - 10 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE SKILLS

• Experience in Power Management and Supply System development.
• Experience in micro-controller, serial bus, and firmware development for device interface.
• Extensive knowledge of 3GPP standards and compliance for cellular products.
• CAD tools: HFSS, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Altium or Allegro.
