Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, has an opening for a Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as a Database Administrator supporting F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) Operations at Edwards AFB, CA. Your Mission will be to support all Database System Administration aspects of ALIS while embedded in a dynamic military environment.
Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
  • Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
  • Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
  • Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintains security and integrity controls.
  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
  • May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated system/network administrators, and mission planners.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years of related experience. Will consider a Bachelor's + 6 years of experience; Master's + 4 years of experience.
  • Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation closure date within the last 6 years and be able to attain and maintain F-35 Program access.
  • Candidate must be able to attain and maintain DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security) within 60 days of hire.
  • This is an operational support role. The candidate may be required to support rotating shifts and work over 40 hours per week - which may include weekends and normal off shift time - as dictated by mission requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • F-35 aircraft experience
  • Previous experience, current knowledge, and developed skills in data administration, especially in an Oracle environment, are highly desired and preferred.
  • Oracle Certified Associated (OCA)/Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Certification

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
