Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Job Description:
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the steadfast pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.
For 45 years, Micron Technology, Inc. has redefined innovation with the world's most advanced memory and semiconductor technologies. We're an international team of visionaries and scientists, developing groundbreaking technologies that are transforming how the world uses information to enrich life.
High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) is a specialized computer memory interface designed for 3D-stacked synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM). HBM stacks multiple DRAM chips vertically, resulting in a compact form factor. It provides very wide data channels both within the stack and between the memory and processor. It can deliver high bandwidths needed for cutting-edge applications like ML (Machine Learning) and AI (Artificial Intelligence). HBM incorporates RTL-style logic design, custom high-speed PHY design, analog circuit design, and DFT circuits to deliver advanced HBM products using in-house and external foundry processes.
We are looking for a HBM Analog Design Engineer. Are you passionate about designing circuits for the next generation of memory that will power leading-edge AI applications? As a HBM Analog Design Engineer, you will work in an innovative and dynamic team and will be responsible for designing and analyzing analog & mixed-signal circuits for DRAM & Interface die. This includes simulating, optimizing, and floor planning circuits. In this position, you will collaborate with Micron's worldwide design and verification teams and support the efforts of multi-functional teams such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing to proactively design HBM products that optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best performance, power, cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to the development of new HBM products by assisting with the overall design, layout
  • Interpret product specifications and design circuits to meet the required functionality
  • Design and develop analog & mixed-signal blocks like PLLs, LDOs, charge pumps, opamps, reference generators, PHY
  • Lead a team of technical designers for specification definition, design, implementation, verification, tape out and post-silicon support
  • Contributes to key innovations that have been widely adopted in processes or products
  • Perform circuit simulations using standard industry simulators such as FINESIM, HSPICE, and VERILOG. Responsible for reliability verification
  • Assist in design validation, reticle experiments, and required tape-out revisions
  • Contributes expert technical knowledge to advance innovative technical solutions
  • Provides advice and counsel to senior management on significant technical issues

Oversee and manage the layout process
  • Lead floor-planning process, including placement and routing optimization
  • Optimize design rules for cost, performance, and functionality
  • Import layout parasitic information into a circuit simulation environment

Maintain Technical Expertise and Provide Training
  • Contribute to cross-group communication to work towards standardization and group success
  • Aid in design documentation and communicating best-known practices to the entire department
  • Participate in continuing education and competitor analysis
  • Proactively solicit feedback from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to ensure the design quality
  • Drive innovation into the future Memory generations within a dynamic work environment

Successful candidates for this position will have:
  • Extensive knowledge of CMOS circuit design, device physics, analog & mixed-signal design techniques, reliability mechanisms, analog layout techniques
  • Strong technical leadership skills.
  • Clear technical expert with depth in Analog & IO design and expanding breadth
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • A self-motivated, phenomenal teammate who enjoys working with others
  • Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts with peers in verbal and written form
  • Experience with a scripting language (Python, Tcl, Perl, etc)
