SUMMARY:
We are looking for an individual who is energetic and motivated to develop and engage students with creative and at times out of the box teaching strategies. Our highly qualified person will have a growth mindset; will be well organized, and collaborative. They will show their preparedness throughout their daily teaching and interactions with students. They will also exhibit a positive disposition, will be relational with students, staff and parents, and will be open to feedback. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Demonstrates mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content areas taught.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of student literacy development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Teaches literacy, social studies, mathematics, and science aligned to Colorado Academic Standards to students in a classroom using approved District curriculum and any other appropriate learning activities.
  • Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
  • Plans and consistently deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that draws on results of student assessments, is aligned to academic standards, and advances students' level of content knowledge and skills.
  • Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student with the identified objectives.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Demonstrate subject matter concepts and examples using models, whiteboards, overhead/LCD projector, interactive whiteboards, computers or any other standard or approved teacher-prepared instructional aides.
  • Explains learning objectives and student expectations.
  • Differentiates instruction and curriculum to meet individual student needs.
  • Provides opportunities for student goal setting, reflection and self-assessment.
  • Uses assessment to improve learning and instruction, as well as evaluate the instructional program.
  • Sets behavior expectations and consequences that are clear and consistently enforced.
  • Participates in functional behavior assessments and in the development of intervention and support plans of individual students as necessary and required.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to and respect for diversity while working toward common goals as a community and a country.
  • Assumes responsibility for instruction, duties, supervision of students, and required meetings at designated times.
  • Utilizes grading patterns that are fairly administered and based on identified criteria.
  • Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. Maintains and submits accurate and complete records as required.
  • Provides proactive, clear and constructive feedback to families about student progress through conferences and other means and work cooperatively with families and other significant adults in the lives of their students.
  • Interacts with students, staff and parents in a positive and professional manner.
  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, behavior, and learning problems.
  • Establish rapport with students and provides a pleasant, safe, orderly and predictable environment conducive to learning.
  • Actively participate in full implementation of the District and School Unified Improvement Plan.
  • Engage in professional development activities based on having a positive impact on student learning, aligned to Colorado Academic Standards, current research and student needs.
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
  • Initiates and leads collaborative activities with colleagues to analyze student data and interpret results, applying findings to improving their teaching practice while supporting students who are either struggling or advanced.
  • Contributes to school committees and teams.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards including honesty, integrity, fair treatment, and respect for others.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board Policy GCOA and GCOA-R Evaluation of Instructional Staff and Evaluation of Instructional Staff - Regulation. EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
Colorado Department of Education Teacher License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk or sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. There are no specific vision abilities required by this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $37,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
