SalaryThe Office of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth seeks an innovative, hardworking, creative and detail-oriented Press Secretary focused on Illinois. This position assists the Illinois Communications Director in planning and executing in-state events, serves as an on-the-record spokesperson for Illinois-based media, helps localize national issues for local audiences and drafts state-focused digital content. Our ideal candidate will thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, be a self-starting team player with very strong writing skills and have a strong sense of humor.
This position will also work closely with DC-based communications team members as well as the Illinois Communications Director to ensure flawless execution of press plans and in-state events while helping capture digital content and ensure the Senator’s voice is heard across the state through remote and in-person interviews.
Candidates based in either Chicago or Springfield, Illinois, are preferred but candidates based in Washington, DC, with strong Illinois ties will also be considered.
