We are looking to fill the role of Press Room Lead.

  • Compensation: Up to $35.00 hourly, depending on experience + $1.00 shift premium + $1500.00 sign on bonus

Responsibilities:    
  • Provide input and assistance to employees and management team on technical issues, problems and potential resolution(s).
  • Help associates understand technical and mechanical trouble-shooting
  • Teach associates tools and techniques to increase technical and mechanical knowledge and familiarity to enable them to successfully resolve production problems
  • Provide immediate support when press or finishing process is down.
  • Operate press equipment when necessary i.e. coverage for vacation, absence, breaks, etc.
  • Review job tickets and verify stock, inks, and dies are available and used as specified.
  • Ensures that product is printed according to specifications by communicating expectations to press operators and finishers.
  • Provide second sign off for press operators with regard to quality inspections as needed.
  • Work closely with the quality department regarding quality improvement efforts.
  • Apply lean philosophy and implementation through kaizen events, improvement activities and lean initiatives to support corporate objectives.
  • Drive SQDC improvement in their respective area.
  • Participate in root cause countermeasure activities to identify areas where improvement is needed and put a plan in motion to address those areas.
  • Ensure 6s visual scans are completed as well as 6s standards followed thru sustainment activities.
  • May participate in daily Genba walks and discussions, with information regarding press performance prepared.
  • Lead and encourage participation in continuous improvement efforts in value stream to ensure waste reduction, cost savings, increase speed, and on time delivery.
  • Cascade critical information such as new techniques, procedures, practices, and guidelines to appropriate individuals such as operators.
  • Partner to the value stream managers on key technical issues, including new product introductions, custom services, cost management, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor key metrics for products in area of responsibility and routinely reviews with manufacturing and management to determine proper course of action to achieve targets.
  • Interface with multiple manufacturing teams while coordinate efforts with value stream managers, supervisors and other technical resource person (TRPs) to ensure accomplishment of overall plant objectives.
  • Ensure safety, quality and operating standards and procedures are implemented and adhered in value stream.
  • Report and participate in safety incident investigation while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings as a member and provide feedback regarding any safety concerns or successes.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications:    
  • Literate in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work with and troubleshoot Globetek and OBI
  • Leads and develops team members
