Job Description
Purpose:
Operate Press Brake to form, bend, punch, notch variety of standard work. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards with regard to customer specifications. The Press Brake Operator must be able to make proper tooling selections, program and set up machine and work from blue prints and drawings.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up tooling and Program Press Brake per Customer CAD Data
- Able to use Calipers and Micrometers.
- Work from blueprints, drawings to meet customer specifications an tolerances
- Trouble shoot machine and adjust the functions and settings of machines
- Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
- Perform preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extended
- Conduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
- Participate in 6S activities
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred
- Experience in Press Brake programming, operations and change overs.
- Hands on mechanical skills
- Professional attitude
- Experience using height gages and calipers
- Able to read blue prints and machine drawings
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
- Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have regular attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime
