We are seeking a motivated, qualified individual to join our company as a Press Brake Operator who will be responsible for producing a variety of sheet metal parts according to dimensional specifications. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable guidelines, Company safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate power brake press to bend, form specific part utilizing the break press to form the contour of the material.
- Calibrate each setup of dies and ram; load programs into brake press given a particular job.
- Perform quality checks on parts using measuring tools (tape measure, protractor, caliper, height gauge).
- Interpret brake press formed dimensions and flat layouts for bend lines.
- Work from blueprints to produce a finished product.
- Operate a variety of material-handling equipment including gas, propane, diesel or electric forklifts.
- Check equipment processing programs against work orders and drawings.
- Load, install and correctly set up the tooling required for each job and part.
- Setup, operate and position all pieces into the machine to match customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs.
- Analyze the quality and effectiveness of the work performed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working order and perform regular maintenance to maximize production.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure employees follow safety guidelines and perform duties in a safe manner.
- Observe all safety and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and properly use equipment.
- Maintain open communication with team members and leadership.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience with Press Brake/bending machines.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
- Ability to manually set up, program, and prepare press break machine.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend associated documents, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to be a self-starter capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to follow all company safety policies and procedures.
