Position Title: Lead Teacher, Early Childhood Center (ECC)
Work Location: Austin, Texas
Position: Full time contract for the 2023-2024 School year, 40 hours per week.
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full time

Staff Supervisor: Director of ECC
Position Summary: Teachers are to prayerfully minister to students and their families with the love of Christ as a resource person for individualized instruction, consulting with parents and church workers, thereby enabling children to receive a Christian education.
Qualifications:
Required –
- Follower of Jesus Christ and actively growing in deeper relationship with Him.
- Evidences a lifestyle that reflects a dynamic relationship with Christ.
- High school diploma
- Cleared TB Test
- Cleared FBI, DFPS, and DPS background check
- Valid First Aid & CPR Training
Preferred –
- Church Membership and Attendance:
- 1st: is or will become an active member of Redeemer Austin
- 2nd: is an active member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod
- 3rd: is an active member of a Christian church or denomination
- College degree (preferably in education, child development, or related field)
- Is active in group study of God’s Word
Position Overview: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Structure all learning experiences that teach/lead students into a growing relationship with Christ and assist students to achieve their potential.
- Set an example of Christian and professional ethics at all times.
- Abide by the procedures outlined in the Redeemer personnel policies and staff handbook.
- Cooperate and support the School Board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the Early Childhood Center.
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings, devotions, conferences,
in-service, retreats, parent conferences, committee and faculty meetings, and the ECC end of year program/graduation. - Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies, and give sufficient notice of students not meeting developmental milestones.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality on private and personal matters.
- Recognize the need for good public relations. Represent the ECC in a favorable and professional manner at all times.
- Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
- Seek the counsel of the administrator, colleagues, and parents while maintaining a teachable attitude.
- Plan and post lessons weekly incorporating objectives found in TEKS and Early Childhood Outcomes set by TEA.
- Plan, arrange, and change the classroom learning environment stations in conjunction with the change in thematic units and objectives.
- Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
- Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.
- Plan through approved channels the balanced classroom use of field trips,
guest speakers, and other media. - Meet with grade level team to coordinate lesson plans and objectives.
- Strive for professional interactions with all staff members; and graciously receive feedback and direction from peers and administration.
- Other duties as assigned by the administration.

- Knowledge necessary to integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
