Sr. Product Owner is responsible for defining Team Product Backlog of User Stories including backlog prioritization, refinement, and creation of acceptance criteria along with agreed upon definition of done. Has the foundational knowledge of SAFe principles, Kanban, and Scrum including embracing agile principles and applying lean agile approach. Demonstrates knowledge of critical thinking skills like Analytical, Problem Solving, Open-minded, creativity, etc. They have a Product/Domain knowledge that guides, informs, and provides insight on what product enhancements, maintenance, and efficiencies are needed. Product Owners at this level can support the delivery of assigned Product Increment (PI) objectives. They can be assigned to a maximum of one agile team.
- Responsible for ensuring that user stories are clear and concise with well-defined acceptance criteria and is driven to get the story into a ready state.
- Responsible for owning the backlog of user stories including prioritization, refinement, and creation of acceptance criteria along with agreed upon definition of done. Has autonomy to make decisions around the team backlog.
- Ensures team risks and dependencies are identified and handled.
- Partners with the Product Manager to understand priorities and features.
- Contributor to the Vision, Roadmap and ROI; ensures the team’s backlog aligns to the roadmap.
- Stakeholder management; accountable for identifying and managing risks, scope trade-offs, and timeline impacts.
- Comfortable in a technical environment writing UAT Test scripts and performing acceptance testing.
- Attends and actively participates in Release Train Ceremonies, champions stories and tickets through the release train processes.
- Attends and actively participates in Team Agile Ceremonies
Job Specifics:
- Fully Remote, team works primarily east coast hours
- Agile Maturity – The team is in the early stages of the agile journey, so we are looking for someone familiar with Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) frameworks and can help mentor teammates.
- Stakeholder Management – This roles frequently interacts with 7-10 different stakeholders to feed the backlog. Understanding prioritization and how to flush out requirements from stakeholders with different technical abilities is important.
- Implementation focus - We are not designing software, we are implementing and configuring the ServiceNow IMR and VR modules to work for Client while connecting different data feeds and building out the reporting capabilities
