About the Position: This position is located USA, AMCOM, TMDE ACTIVITY, PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT DIRORGANIC INDUSTRIAL BASE DIR, REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL. Serves as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards.Qualifications: Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of unusually complex high precision calibration laboratory reference standards. I can calibrate customer test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) requiring measurement. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.

  • Theory and Instruments (Electrical, Electronic) Used in Shop and Trade Practices
  • Trouble shooting
  • PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. Works in a sitting position for extended periods of time, and frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping is required.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. May be exposed to hazards of high voltage, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Must comply with applicable safety regulations.
