Job Description
**Precision Machinist Job Responsibilities**
Produces precision machined components by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards; maintaining accurate records; and ensuring equipment and supplies are properly maintained.
**Precision Machinist Job Duties: **
Plans machining operations by analyzing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Programs CNC mills and lathes by inputting instructions, including zero and reference points; configuring tool registers, offsets, compensation, and calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; validating part programs.
Sets up CNC mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, and stops; aligning vices; and aligning machine heads.
Verifies machine settings by measuring positions, running initial parts, and inspecting sample workpieces, following international standards.
Maintains machining specifications by adhering to best practices; taking accurate measurements; identifying and resolving malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; and following quality assurance procedures and processes.
Ensures safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains CNC equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Facilitates effective communication among team members by reporting actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
Documents work activities by completing production and quality logs.
Contributes to organizational objectives by taking ownership of assigned tasks; seeking opportunities to enhance job achievements.

Salary info:
$25 - $32 / hr
