Presales Audio-Visual (AV) Engineer

We are currently seeking a talented Audio-Visual (AV) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The AV Engineer will play a critical role in supporting our sales team by assisting with proposals and providing pre-sales engineering expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio-visual systems integration, with proficiency in software tools such as Visio or similar for creating system diagrams and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and develop customized AV solutions that meet their needs and budget constraints.
- Create detailed system designs and technical documentation using software tools like Visio, AutoCAD, or similar, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather information necessary for designing and planning AV installations.
- Work closely with vendors and manufacturers to select appropriate components and equipment for each project, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
- Assist in preparing proposals, including cost estimates, lighting plans, and project timelines, to present to clients.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in home automation and AV integration.
- Collaborate with the project management and installation teams to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to post-sales activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in audio-visual system design and integration, with a focus on residential applications.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, DTools, or similar for creating technical drawings and diagrams.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and VLANs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with clients.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions that exceed client expectations.
- Industry certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with home automation platforms and control systems such as Crestron, Control4, or Savant is desirable.
