We are currently looking for counselors who are driven to help students achieve their goals to become doctors. We need compassionate, driven counselors who can guide students through the medical school application process, answer any questions students may have, and help strategize with students to maximize their chances of earning acceptance to medical school. A strong applicant is supportive, a quick learner, and possesses past advising experience in the post-secondary education setting.
Basic Counselor Responsibilities:
As a counselor, you will:
- communicate with students via email and Zoom calls to advise them through all parts of the application process.
- help brainstorm ideas for the personal statement.
- help brainstorm ideas for activity descriptions and secondary essays.
- advise students through the school selection process to determine which medical schools to apply to.
- provide answers to any application-related questions students may have throughout the application cycle to help create the strongest application possible.
- conduct mock interview sessions with students. The mock interviews will help prepare students for traditional, Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI), or panel interviews and will include comprehensive feedback to strengthen the student responses.
- coordinate with editors who will be editing the written components to ensure the student is on track.
- be professional and courteous to students at all times.
- take notes of student interactions and log meeting times.
- work during the time of day that is most convenient to them, however, they must respond to students within 48 hours, and collaborate with students to schedule advising sessions.
- check-in with students on occasion to make sure they are keeping up with their admissions timeline goals and tasks.
- stay up to date on the admissions process and review materials to confidently answer student questions.
- work with a minimum 15 students during peak cycle times.
- work an average of 10-20 hours per week as a part-time counselor
- reduce the amount of time needed to spend with each student as she progresses through the application cycle.
The peak season falls between April through July, and October through November. During the peak season, we expect counselors to be extremely committed to their students and dedicate the necessary time to the application process. We value work/life balance, however, the expectation is a strong commitment during the busy months.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Minimum 2 years previous advising or counseling experience with premedical students.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Our Three Principles
As we continue to grow and help students, we are guided by three major principles that we believe are vital to our community.
Attention to quality
We only create courses and practice questions that we would use. That means having the best, first-class teaching content that can exist. We're not satisfied with mediocrity. We don't care about the amount of time or money it takes to get something done right. If it's not perfect, we won't stop until we believe it is. This ethos runs deep within our company.
Excellence in support
We're obsessed with our students. Their well-being and success drive us each day. Great customer service is not an afterthought. It is the most important service we can offer. We understand that our students come from different learning backgrounds. It's our mission to ensure that each one has an amazing experience.
Learn from anywhere at anytime
We are committed to building the future of education on the internet so that it is easily accessible to all students from around the world. Our dedication is to all students who want to learn, regardless of their pace, and no matter what time of the day it is.
