Description
Under the direction of the department supervisor or their designee, the position provides for the efficient handling and organizing of product coming into and leaving the pre-finish area.
- Receive, sort and file all "top level" work order packets for product entering the finishing department.
- Set up the weekly schedule by coordinating "top level" packets with the production logbook.
- Prioritize product coming into the area for the day and week it is scheduled to ship.
- Inspect all incoming product for proper quality, quantity and species or color.
- Prep product before finishing.
- Verify receipt of all products for an order by utilizing the information from the work order packets and the production logbook.
- Tag products with pertinent information for the finishing room and move the products to the proper location in finishing.
- Place stocked parts in their proper location and monitor/maintain stocking levels.
- Communicate discrepancies such as poor quality, missing product, wrong product, etc. to the proper supervisor immediately for corrective action.
- Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required by supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- PC Proficiency and ability to learn Brodart's system. Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with all departments.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Utilize a floor jack for material handling.
- Ability to read and understand paperwork.
- Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions such as noise, dust and occasional finishing fumes. Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift up to 40 lbs.
