Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to lead the design and development of control systems focusing on powertrain, hybrid electric, thermal, and environmental system management.
Responsibilities:
- Create System Specifications, Sub-System Specifications, and Statements of Work.
- Troubleshoot powertrain and control system issues.
- Lead and assist in the development of control systems.
- Manage subcontractors responsible for developing control systems and power generation components.
- Deliver presentations on concepts and program status to management.
- Generate technical reports and support R&D activities.
- Provide technical direction for corrective action solutions and perform failure analysis.
- Support various engineering assignments as needed.
Requirements:
- Engineering Degree Required (EE, ME, or relevant Engineering Degree); Masters Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of Powertrain engineering experience, including 3 years in Hybrid Electric or Electric Powertrain (PHEV, HEV, or EV).
- Preferred experience in CANBUS, Electric Vehicle, Hybrid Electric, and 3D Modeling software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in office, shop, test lab, and test site environments.
Additional Information / Desired Experience:
- Eligibility to obtain a US security clearance is required.
- Previous experience with ground combat vehicles desired.
- Ability to work around military vehicles and pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space) is desired.
- Flexibility for occasional evening/weekend overtime and travel to test sites.
