Our current opening is for a Powers Systems Field Engineer/Technician in our Lenexa office. Technician will be responsible for providing customers with superior quality of service while assuring customer satisfaction.
- Primarily responsible for service, repair and diagnosing power generation related systems at the customer's locations.
- Includes: generators, diesel and gaseous type engines, automatic transfer switches and all accessories associated with these systems.
- Specialty service areas: Load bank testing , Fuel Polishing, Thermal Imaging
- Technician will be assigned contract accounts that they will be responsible for by fulfilling the scope of the service contract as well as time and material calls, this includes performing preventive maintenance inspections per manufacturer requirements and responding to service calls as needed.
- Technician may be required to assist with the installation of a system addition or retrofit of their customers systems.
- Technician will also be required to serve as a back up to other accounts in the event primary technician is unavailable.
- Technician is responsible for filling out all required paperwork electronically as required, including time sheets and work-orders.
- All documentation should be detailed, as it will be used to generate reports and invoices to the customer.
- The technician will be included in the emergency on-call duty rotation and will provide customer support during non-business hours as needed. This support will also carry over to support the on-call technician in the event a problem arises with that service account.

Requirements
- Three to five years field experience or a combination of training and experience recommended but not required.
- Electrical Generating Systems Association training/ certification recommended but not required.
- Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two (2) years apprenticeship; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license
- Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
