Power Systems Engineer, Tesla Energy

The System Controls andModeling team is responsible for dynamics modeling, algorithm design, andsystem controls implementation for energy products. 

Tesla is seeking a Power SystemControls Engineer to join the team in developing high-performance powercontrols for the Tesla energy ecosystem including the Site Controller,Microgrid Controller, Megapack and Powerwall, and Supercharger. Theengineer is expected to perform controls design through all stages startingwith concept stage, modeling, implementation, and validation. 

• Expert knowledge of at leasttwo power system modelling and HIL tools: Simulink, Typhoon, OPAL-RT, PSCAD
• Strong knowledge of at leastone programming language: Rust, Python, C, C++
• Direct experience modellinglarge and small grids with deep understanding of grid level performancerequirements
• Strong working knowledge ofcontrol theory, ability to implement PID control
• Setting up full HIL testingsystems including physical and software setups of meters, controllers, networkswitches, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and interface cards
• Communicate findings in aconcise & clear manner and ability to work cross functionally with engineering,business development, and deployment personnel
