Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year
Based in Atlanta, we are an innovative company that creates products for the renewable energy industry leveraging cutting-edge electronics that support the next generation of grid monitoring sensors.
We are on the hunt for a passionate and dedicated Power Electronics Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of power electronic systems, including power converters and inverters, power distribution systems, and power management systems. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and who is always looking to learn and grow. This is a permanent position, requiring at least three years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and test power electronic systems, including power converters and inverters, power distribution systems, and power management systems.
2. Develop PCB layouts for power electronic circuits and systems.
3. Perform simulations and analysis of power electronic circuits and systems.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that power electronic systems meet overall system requirements.
5. Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure the successful transition of designs from prototyping to production.
6. Provide technical support to customers and field engineers.
7. Stay updated on the latest advancements in Power Electronics and incorporate new technologies and techniques into designs as appropriate.
8. Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and reports.
9. Ensure that all designs and processes adhere to industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in Power Electronics design and development.
3. 2-5 years of experience in design, fabrication and testing of electrical/electronic hardware for Power Electronics used in industrial, automotive, or utility scale applications.
4. Experience in hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up and prototype and new product experience.
5. Circuit design proficiency
6. Schematic capture and eCAD using Eagle, Cadence, OrCAD, Altium or equivalent.
7. Multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) layout design to support high power density.
8. Experience in designing switching circuits, considering thermal and parasitic elements.
9. Experience designing inverters, motor drives, battery chargers (bi-directional) and is well versed with 3 phase systems and multi kilo-watt level electronics.
