Job Description
sonnen, Inc. is looking for an experienced Power Electronics Controls Manager to join its Power Electronics Department. This position reports to Director of Power Electronics.
Major Responsibilities:
- Leads the Power Electronics Controls team and serves as its technical expert.
- Conducts performance review and executes individual development plan based on company guidelines.
- Recruits, develops, and retains Power Electronics Controls engineers and professionals.
- Mentors and coaches team members to enhance their technical and leadership skills.
- Analyzes product design requirements to decide control architecture and develop and verify control solutions.
- Participates in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture and conducts analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application.
- Determines the best techniques, procedures and/or theories as they apply to the control development of Power Electronics products and systems.
- Implements control algorithms to meet compliance requirements.
- Prepares and coordinates the release of documentation to support product design, verification, and manufacturing.
- Conducts feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems.
- Works with cross-functional team on specific work assignments.
- Forecasts and schedules work activities and defines processes for repetitive tasks.
- Acts as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of Power Electronics products of sonnen.
- Travels to visit customers, sonnen factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needs.
Basic Qualifications:

- Is flexible to support customers and business
- Master's degree on Electrical Engineering with specialization on Power Electronics Controls. Minimum 10 years of practical industry experience in the field of Power Electronics Controls
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong experience on various power converters such as DC/DC converter, inverter, and rectifier.
- Strong experience on DSP and FPGA
- Strong experience on advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, hardware in the loop, and other relevant Power Electronics development tools.
