Staffing Inc. is partnered with a great metal fabricator and welding company in Holland, MI who is looking to hire a Powder Coating Manager to start ASAP.
Overall Supervision
- Overall supervision of your subordinates ensuring their time is being utilized properly per their shift.
- All of the employee’s work is being completed accurately and per the SOP for said work. Make sure they’re following SOP’s.
- Ensure all employees have been trained or assigned to trainees regarding the ERP and SOP’s per dept. (Orders due, Capacity Calendar, SOP’s updated and correct per current operation expectations)
- Ensure SOP’s are current and accurate.
- Follow direction regarding Posted hours and or Review of Hours without being asked/directed
- Send to all internal staff weekly
- Send to Upper Management weekly
- You are expected to work along with your subordinates
- Goal of only 100% of your time should be spent Managing, Purchasing and quoting.
- You are responsible for your subordinates
- You are responsible for your subordinates and work they produce
- Let plant manager know if they can’t do a particular job well and formulate plan to deal with each situation accordingly
- Proper management of records, doing the paperwork put in place for said areas
- Employee Reviews and RMA/IRMA review for your depts. to eliminate and reduce Mistakes/failures
- Data logging (problems and production statistics) KPI’s for Op’s manager.
- Give yearly reviews
- Grade employees based on performance over the past year
- Evaluate prior goals
- Outline goals for upcoming year
- Interview prospective new hires
- Give feedback to management as to how well a candidate fills the roll applied for
- Attendance
- Vacation/Unpaid time off sheets per departments get addressed and signed weekly
- Weekly attendance sheets per employee for point deduction or point addition
Powder Coat Manager Responsibilities
- Quoting all PC only jobs
- Project management of PC only jobs
- Quoting PC jobs for ISA
- Purchasing all powder
- Purchasing all replacement parts
- Purchasing all chemicals.
- Schedule/Divert works within internal PC departments
- Schedule and work with shipping on all PC only pick up and drop off goods.
- P&L by department
- Attend all management meetings
- Schedule with Lead Staff production planning
- Monitor and report KPI’s Plant Manager.
- Drive communication through daily meetings with your team
- Develop and improve process flow through continuous improvement.
- Identify areas of weakness and develop training plans to further grow your team.
- Ensure staff is organizing work areas before and after parts are processed.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Review, verify, and approve quotes for budget, BOM, and Routing accuracy.
- Proactively Monitor and update Orders due daily
- Review, add, and update department SOP’s and ensure staff is trained.
Maintenance
- Review, add, and update department SOP’s and ensure staff is trained.
- Scheduling all maintenance on the powder coat line. Which includes
- Wash general maintenance
- Pumping of the chemical tanks scheduling
- Pumping of the oil separator tanks Both batch and Line
- All ovens Maintenance scheduling
- All PC booth (filters)
Powder Coat Team Responsibilities
- Ensure all finished product is packaged properly for following departments.
- All finished product to be moved to the correct departments as needed.
- Ensure quality
- Routinely verify coverages with mill gauge
- Routinely verify color
- Do final inspections of painted parts before releasing to production
Lean Leadership
- Update SQDC boards Daily
- Hold daily/Weekly Standup meetings
- Hourly (pushes) Gemba walks through each department
- Assist others when needed
- 5s
- Continuous Improvement
Shop Assistance
Position Goals
- Come up with and implement continuous improvement ideas
- All priority parts are processed through department by EOD.
- Enforce All Department SOP. Train employees, keep up on revisions, update as needed.
- Ensure all Equipment is running without issues.
- Problem solve and look for Continuous improvement opportunity’s
- Ensure all complete product meets quality standards and is moved properly to the following department.
- Verify complete daily tasks are complete and tool board checklist is accurate.
