Post-Production Supervisor (freelance)
The Post-Production Supervisor performs resource and financial management to ensure that projects are sufficiently staffed and delivered within allocated project budgets. They should be proficient with current editing platforms (e.g. Adobe Premiere, etc.) and workflows, and be able to translate the creative vision of productions into clear action plans for the editing teams, as well as monitoring projects’ progress to ensure they adhere to production schedules and budgets.
The Post-Production Supervisor position is based at Hearst Media Production Group ’ s (HMPG) Glendale office and reports to the EP/Head of Post-Production.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clear and concise project expectations to story and editing teams
- Draft schedules based on the creative vision and budgetary & delivery requirements for the productions
- Drive processes to meet schedules, budgets, manpower, and technical quality targets
- Track Post team hours for accuracy and output; alerting leadership team to changes and overages
- In collaboration with HMPG HR department, identify and recruit team members for hiring based on the technical requirements of the productions
- Identify and propose editing resource requirements such as equipment and software packages as required
- Lead regular project reviews to recommend schedule changes, and cost or resource adjustments
- Work collaboratively with HMPG’s clearance manager(s) on acquiring and tracking stock footage purchases in accordance with budget and company deals
- Perform quality checks on deliverables to ensure all creative, aesthetic, and legal requirements are met
- Suggest adoption of emerging technologies in work processes to improve quality of output content and workplace efficiency Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a post-production coordinator and/or editor
- Sound understanding of the entire post-production process
- Ability to communicate effectively Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
The salary range for this role is $1,800 to $2,200 weekly. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
