Job description

Tufts Medical Center Post-Doctoral Fellow in
Health Economics and Outcomes Research
The Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR) at Tufts Medical Center and GSK are pleased to announce a post-doctoral fellowship position that will focus on the economics of vaccination and infectious diseases. The expected start date of the fellowship is September 2024.
This two-year fellowship program will provide an excellent opportunity to gain unique and in-depth applied work experience in health and economic outcomes studies relating to vaccines. The program will train a qualified candidate in health economic evaluation, outcomes research, decision sciences, and health policy analysis. The overall goal of the fellowship program is to help prepare the fellow for careers in pharmaceutical industry, academic, or consulting settings.
In the first year, the fellow will train at CEVR, located at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. The fellow will learn value assessment methods and collaborate with CEVR faculty to conduct health economics and outcomes research with a focus on vaccines. The fellow will investigate key analytic issues and produce original manuscripts using various data sources such as the Tufts CEVR Global Health Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (GH CEA) Registry (www.ghcearegistry.org). The fellow may also conduct additional vaccine-related analyses stemming from CEVR's ongoing global health deliverables and international research partnerships.
In the second year, the fellow will work directly with the GSK Vaccines Health Outcomes and Epidemiology team in Philadelphia, PA (or remotely). The team conducts health services research employing methodologies spanning from observational analyses to cost-effectiveness modeling. The fellow will get hands-on experience applying their research expertise in a highly matrixed team environment. The fellow will also gain an understanding of evidence generation strategy and of the US vaccines policy environment.
