The laboratory of Kanhaiya Singh Ph.D. at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (affiliated with the Department of Surgery) at the University of Pittsburgh has an immediate opening for a talented and passionate Postdoctoral Associate. The Institute's commitment to excellence in research drives our commitment to seek out and train the best of the next generation of biomedical scientists. We are interested in recruiting a Ph.D. candidate in Molecular Genetics for laboratory research that focuses on the role of the Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) in skin repair and regeneration.
The Postdoctoral Associate will work on independent and collaborative projects using high-throughput genomics and microscopy expertise. The successful applicant should have experience in standard confocal imaging and molecular analyses, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, etc. Hands-on surgical experience with murine models is required.
The qualified applicant will be required to conduct research, interpret results, prepare manuscripts, and aid in the preparation of grant applications. Training in R programming, CODEX imaging, Single cell sequence analysis, cDNA synthesis, and barcoding are preferred. The applicant should have a command of the English language, good interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking ability evidence of experience, and good writing skills through publications in peer-reviewed journals. The applicant should also be proficient in computer software usage including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical packages.
