Job Description:

The postDoctoral Associate will develop methodology utilizing high precision analytical methods to assess contaminants in irrigation water from agricultural samples acquired by container growing operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus in Analytical Chemistry & experience in materials or synthetic chemistry.
Experience working and troubleshooting with gas & liquid-chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation
Experience characterizing organic/inorganic molecules by NMR, MS, IR, and other techniques.
Knowledge of appropriate laboratory safety requirements
Efficient time management and organizational skills
Effective knowledge and skills utilizing computer technology
Communication and other skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read, speak, and write proficiently in scientific English
Proven record of accomplishment publishing peer-reviewed publications in English language journals.
Experience mentoring junior scientists such as graduate and undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with microextraction techniques, will be considered a plus, but is not required.
