Portfolio Consultant

The Portfolio Consultant (PC) is primarily responsible for developing business partnerships with Manager Due Diligence and Discretionary Model Teams, to proactively identify and pursue product placement opportunities on recommended lists and discretionary model portfolios.

In addition, and depending on the PC’s assigned areas of focus, she/he will be equally responsible for building impactful partnerships with the RM and Head(s) of Platforms and Products wherever applicable. Internally, the PC in this role will partner closely with our External/Internal wholesalers, so as to best capitalize on future endorsements of Amundi US strategies on the recommended lists and/or discretionary model portfolios.

The position’s primary distribution segment will consist primarily of Large RIAs/RIA Aggregators, and secondarily of TAMPs, Bank Trusts, and the non-proprietary exposures of Asset Managers that Amundi US is not presently covering. As such, the PC’s ultimate objective will be to place Amundi’s investment strategies, across wrappers, on the recommended lists and discretionary models of the aforementioned distribution channels within US Intermediary.

Provided the aforementioned remit, the ideal candidate must possess, together with the position’s preferences/requirements outlined below, the ability to present and support (qualitatively and quantitatively) the merits and areas of differentiation of Amundi’s investment strategies, to either position a timely investment product competitively or to update a gatekeeper on a strategy, securing a placement or furthering the gatekeeper’s existing conviction, respectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent the Firm with integrity and model firm-values and professional standards.
• Contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative work environment, which is in-turn guided by a growth mindset, and rewards critical thinking and problem solving.
• Develop and execute on Firm level business plan.

• In-depth knowledge of the product line at Amundi US, across asset classes and Morningstar categories, and a strong understanding of the relevant competition in each category.

• Review firms’ recommended lists and discretionary models systematically, including performance and personnel updates of competitor strategies, to identify imminent or longer-term opportunities, across platforms.
• Track metrics such as pipeline progression, placement on platforms and related activities, against the KPIs this PC and hiring manager are to set forth.
• Communicate effectively within the firm regarding business initiatives and firm opportunities, including documentation of activities and opportunity milestones.
• Coordinate progress, and periodically review RFPs or strategy-related questionnaires prior to their dissemination to prospects.
• Last but not least, the PC will be expected to also contribute or periodically lead special projects and assignments as requested.

Requirements:

• 4-year undergraduate degree
• 7-10 years of related experience within the mutual fund industry
• Series 7 and 63 required within 90 days of hiring date.
• CFA or MBA strongly preferred.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using analytical tools such as Morningstar Direct required.
• Travel Required.
