Job description

Overview:
The Portfolio Consultant in the Portfolio Analysis and Consulting Group within Natixis Investment Managers Solutions provides investment consulting services to current and prospective clients across the spectrum of sales channels.  The consultant performs in-depth portfolio analysis using quantitative & qualitative methods.  Armed with an understanding of the underlying risks, exposures, sensitivities and return sources for a portfolio, the consultant is charged with interpreting the information for the client and reconciling it against their long-term portfolio objective, constraints and risk target.  The consultant also sits on the Natixis Solutions Investment Committee, where they contribute their market insight and interpret the market environment to provide actionable investment ideas. The consultant must have a commanding knowledge of current and historical portfolio construction tactics, economic and capital markets, quantitative methods and possess excellent communication skills.

Given each consultation is highly unique, the consultant must flexible, resourceful, results-driven and possess a problem-solving mind-set. This is a hybrid position located in Boston, MA.

What you will do:
•    Conduct comprehensive portfolio reviews in-person or over web-ex.
•    Conduct analysis using in-house software.
•    Identify imbalances, gaps, inefficiencies, hidden risks and/or inconsistencies with the intent to improve a portfolio’s structure based on the client-partnership. 
•    Provide set of specific ideas, options and steps toward resolving issues identified and aligning portfolio stated needs
•    Provide capital market and economic market context from a historical and forward-looking basis as it relates to existing portfolio and proposed changes.
•    Conduct investment research and continuously build knowledge relating to asset allocation methods and risk analysis
•    Participate in the department’s Investment Committee providing topical investment research, portfolio weighting suggestions and weekly comments or ideas for discussion.
•    Suggest inventive ways to improve, differentiate and advance the team’s analytical capabilities
•    Train external sales people on portfolio construction related concepts
•    Assist with monitoring key competitors and noteworthy trends within the competitive landscape
•    Develop an in-depth understanding of Natixis’s affiliate investment capabilities
•    Employ a needs based and client centric approach where success is defined as empowering and satisfying the client

What you will bring:
•    Bachelor’s Degree and CFA required
•    Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in the financial services industry
•    Demonstrated strength and proficiency with analytical concepts and mathematical sciences
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•    Highly credible and professional with ability to conduct individual and group meetings
•    Excellent time management and strong organization skills, and highly motivated
•    Works well in a team environment
•    Possesses strong work ethic and desire to continuously improve
•    Proficient with analytical software packages including MPI Stylus, Factset, Bloomberg and risk modeling applications  
•    Ability to travel 15-25% of time
•    Must have series 7 & 63, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
