Job Description
The City of Kyle has added the city's first splashpads this year and is looking for an experienced individual with technical work in the operation and maintenance of swimming pools and splash pads. This individual will oversee aquatic maintenance operations and assist in training staff in the maintenance of the James Adkins pool and splashpads at Gregg-Clarke Park, La Verde Park, and Steeplechase Park. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Division Manager of Parks Maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out general pool cleaning responsibilities including removing debris from pool surface and floor, precisely balancing chemicals, and oversee and recommend general maintenance of all pool equipment.
- Accurately diagnose cause of Pool Maintenance and pool water chemistry issues, complete basic repairs; recommend options for solutions, price repairs as needed in accordance with company policy.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers to ensure complete alignment of our weekly pool cleaning and repair services.
- Maintain and be responsible for city-owned tools, equipment, city-owned vehicle, and inventory.
- Attend required department meeting and other city or vendor training as required.
- Must be able to work flexible work schedule and irregular hours including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- May be required to work immediately before, during or after an emergency or disaster.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Pool Maintenance for commercial and/or municipal industry.
- Possess a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certifications.
- Must possess or be able to obtain within six (6) months of employment the American Red Cross Frist Aid Certification.
- Or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of required job duties and expectations.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
