Location: AdventHealth Orlando – 601 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803
Schedule: Full Time
Shift: Nights - 6:00pm to 6:00am
*Shifts eligible for weekend shift differential, 2nd shift differential & 3rd shift differential*
The role you’ll contribute:
Performs quality sleep studies for all patients under minimal supervision in order to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Facilitates all aspects of study completion and reporting. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department. Participates in the Florida Hospital performance improvement program. Performs additional duties as requested.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Performs quality sleep recordings by collecting, analyzing, and integrating pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient according to age, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for the physician interpretation.
- Implements appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as continuous and/or bi-level positive airway pressure (PAP) and Oxygen administration.
- Informs the nursing supervisor and/or the physician of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording, when necessary.
- Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care and maintains an orderly and efficient system for storage and retrieval of patient information.
- Provides patient education according to established guideline.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Minimum six months’ polysomnography experience or successful completion of a sleep program
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (CRPT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.58 - $37.01 per hour
