Job description

This recruitment will establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies.

This position works 4/10hr days with 3 days off, rotating shift every 8 weeks. Shifts include Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

This position is essential and will require working during all types of weather.

Employee will be responsible for providing emergency and routine assistance and information to citizens and police officers at a police district station. Duties include, providing a high level of customer service; initiating written reports from citizens; providing fingerprinting services; conducting computer queries and generating information and results via METER, NCIC and CAD; and collecting fees for fingerprinting requests and accident reports. This position may be required to work during declared emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications


Experience: Two (2) years of previous clerical experience that includes public contact work.

Education:
Graduation from high school or High School Certificate completion recognized in the State of Maryland.

Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.


Preferred Criteria


1. Experience providing customer service on the phone and to walk in visitors, to include dealing with difficult and/or irate customers.
2. Experience obtaining critical information from various sources to provide to the public.
3. Experience taking and writing routine reports, preferably using a computer.
4. Experience in computer system and database applications, specifically experience using NCIC, METERS, CAD and CJIS is preferred.
