Police Officer

The Village of Brewster Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Police Officer (Part-Time) to work a minimum of two 8 hour tours a week. This position is for individuals with prior Law Enforcement ONLY. We are looking for dedicated candidates who have been retired from an accredited full time Police Department for NO MORE than 4 years.

All applicants MUST possess a valid N.Y. State Driver's License, have NO Criminal convictions, and must pass a rigorous background investigation, which includes a Drug Screen and Fingerprints. Failure to meet the standards for the background investigation may lead to your offer of employment being rescinded.

Responsibilities:

- Enforce laws, ordinances, and regulations to maintain order and protect life and property

- Patrol assigned areas to deter criminal activity and ensure public safety

- Respond to emergency calls, alarms, and requests for assistance

- Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of crimes

- Arrest suspects and perpetrators of criminal acts

- Interview witnesses, victims, and suspects in investigations

- Prepare detailed reports on incidents and investigations

- Provide testimony in court proceedings
