FORKLIFT TECHNICIAN
· Promotes an atmosphere of goodwill and accountability between the company and the customer. Acts in a professional manner and provides a superior level of customer service and satisfaction.
· Makes appropriate equipment repairs or modifications to solve operating and performance problems as dictated by the analysis of customer equipment.
· Efficiently performs scheduled equipment maintenance per customer contract.
SUMMARY:
Black Equipment is looking for a Forklift Mechanic to perform quality repairs on lift trucks and industrial equipment. Position will include completing assignments safely and to customer’s satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have related experience and/or training. Competitive pay beginning at $21/hour and up (based on experience).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Expertly analyzes and diagnoses customer equipment problems and breakdowns. Recommends the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance problems.
· Accurately and neatly documents each service call, providing the necessary paperwork.
· Observes all safety procedures and makes certain that hazardous waste is properly disposed of.
· Cooperatively performs additional duties when assigned by service management.
· Maintain the company service vehicle in a clean, orderly and hazard free manner. This includes the responsibility for the performance of regular maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
· Secures and maintains service and parts inventor in the company service vehicle.
· Provides well-maintained personal tools required to effectively perform equipment service duties.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Effectively communicates with customers, coworkers, and management.
· 1-3 years of mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic experience. Has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
· Has the ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments.
· Keep pace with industry innovations to be able to make sound recommendations to customers.
· Can safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.
· Has the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work, can exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a maintenance environment with potential equipment movement hazards as well as exposure to chemicals and solvents that require knowledge of proper safety procedures. Work is performed at customer locations, including manufacturing, warehouses, cold storage facilities and in other ‘difficult’ or outdoor environments.
