Position Title: Plumbing Service Field Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Service Date: 2024
Reports to: Operations Manager Location: Eagle, CO
Wage Range: $50-55+/hr. DOE

Job Summary
Performs all functions of Plumbing Service Journeyman. Assists Service Manager and Dispatchers in coordinating manpower, managing accounts, and working with other MTech Mechanical Technologies Group Departments. Billable time depends on the workload of department.
Essential Job Function
  • Effectively direct daily team activities
  • Talk to every tech team member daily and promote MTech Mechanical Technologies Group culture to team and clients
  • Act as a liaison between the client and MTech Mechanical Technologies Group
  • Help establish goals for the week with dispatch
  • Promote time management skills to your team of technicians
  • Promote 100% bill time and teach/coach time management skills
  • Develop team/client relationships
  • Perform safety and quality inspections
  • Manage preventative maintenance accounts to fit within budget
  • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of team's paperwork/MSI and coordinate corrections as necessary. Back up timecard checks on as needed basis
  • Assist with contract renewals and T & M repair proposals
  • Support teams with technical assistance/advise in the field that will result in quality service, client satisfaction and profit
  • Use problems in the field as opportunities to provide additional training for technicians
  • Talk with team techs weekly about paperwork. All paperwork must be done in the field at the job site
  • Be proactive in helping generate policy and procedure
  • Assist with onboarding of new technicians
  • Provide objective evaluation of team and team members' performance to Operations Manager
  • Review manhour reports with Operations Manager
  • Coordinate with other operations groups to complete service projects involving them
  • Keep workers informed on future schedules, planning and changes
  • Keep Operations Manager informed of any problems related to personnel or to technical issues. For example:
    • Need for additional technical training
    • Technician's dissatisfaction with management
    • Personal problems for which a technician might need counseling
  • Take responsibility for your own learning and continuing education so that skill is "state of the art"
  • Keep client informed as to progress in resolving problem situations. Visit clients on a regular basis and see that clients are satisfied and generate more work
  • Work within the guidelines of MTech safety and employee policies
  • Evaluate new products and tools and make recommendations for specific applications and report findings to Operations Manager
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
  • Other duties as assigned: On call rotation as Manager on Duty, assist with small projects, assist on an as needed basis with Monday morning meeting and paperwork, assist with in house technical training
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, technical school certificate or degree preferred
  • 5 years of Journeyman Level Plumbing Service Technician experience including a thorough understanding of business/industry practices, processes, & standards
  • Journeyman or Master Plumbing License, required
  • Must be approved to drive per MTech’s driving standards
  • Thorough understanding of and respect for safety and OSHA rules & regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
  • Solid MS Office/Excel skills and willingness to learn new software programs
