Job Title: Horseshoe Lake Park - Playground Attendant

Salary Range: $11.41 - $13.57 hourly (starting salary dependent on qualifications)

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, Assistant Facilities Manager or the Supervisor on duty, Park Attendants will perform a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled cleaning and daily maintenance tasks pertaining to the park grounds, pavilion areas, and restrooms at Horseshoe Lake Park from May through September. Selected individuals must possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:

To include, but not limited to:

· Sweeping, dusting, hosing, wet mopping, sanitizing restroom surfaces, and other cleaning activities pertinent to any park/facility areas.

· Greets/assists all patrons in a friendly manner with a consistently positive attitude.

· Checks and verifies pavilion registrations.

· Keeps restrooms stocked, clean and sanitized.

· Cleans charcoal grills as needed.

· Maintains a high level of visibility and accessibility.

· Picks up and disposes of litter. Empties trash cans.

· Monitors park activities.

· Consistently communicates in a pro-active, clear and concise manner with management, park users, and co-workers.

· Monitors parking and the flow of traffic into and out of park area.

· Reports accidents and incidents to management immediately.

· Advises management of inventory (trash bags, paper products, etc.) needs.

· Advises management of maintenance concerns.

· Wears uniform as provided.

· Must be punctual.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of park areas is preferred.

· Able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner (voice, text, email).

· The ability to be personable and helpful to all customers

· Able to work a flexible schedule and varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary.

· The desire to work effectively with other employees

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

· Able to lift and load trash bags weighing up to 50 pounds.

· The ability to follow instruction and perform tasks to the standards of management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum age of 18 years old
