POSITION SUMMARY
As a Platform Engineering Intern at EarnIn, you will be immersed in a dynamic, innovative environment where your work has a direct impact on developer productivity, cloud computing and microservices infrastructure. This role is perfectly suited for someone with a strong passion for automation, developer experience, cloud computing, and building efficient, scalable systems. You will play a crucial role in our engineering team, focusing on microservice deployment guardrails, extending deployment tooling and interfaces, and participating in meaningful projects that enhance the developer experience.
This position will be part-time year-round (10 hours/week) and will be hybrid from our Palo Alto HQ. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level and location and the pay for this position will be $25/Hour.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Optimize CI/CD Pipelines: Work with the devops team to make our CI/CD platform scalable and resilient. Fix issues to eliminate flakiness.
- Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with software developers to understand their needs to simplify testing their changes locally and provide standardized solutions.
- Create and improve tools that enable developers to self service new microservices creation and provision cloud infra
- Implement and refine guardrails for microservice deployments using service scorecards, ensuring the code changes are tested, scalable, and secure.
- Participate in Cross-Team Developer Experience Projects: Engage with cross functional teams to implement features that improve developer experience.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Someone currently pursuing a Undergrad or Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or Computer Science
- Located in Palo Alto, CA or ability to relocate to Palo Alto, CA for duration of internship
- Familiarity with AWS and basic understanding of Kubernetes
- Experience with programming and scripting languages: Python, Bash
- Experience developing and integrating with APIs is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team environment, and desire to learn cloud infrastructure and automation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
