Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Platform Engineer. This is a long-term 12 month-plus REMOTE contract engagement. Our client is a technology transportation organization and, in this role, you will be supporting the build of a new platform. Qualified candidates will be eligible to work in the US without the requirement for sponsorship now or in the future.
What You Bring to the Role.

• 5-7+ years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive experience with distributed architectures and various enterprise integration patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and Azure.
• Professional background in building and managing Kubernetes/CaaS clusters.
• Proficient in constructing the infrastructure for web-scale online distributed applications and services, with expertise in measuring, monitoring, and assessing their health.
• Experience with an Identity Provider (IDP) Orchestrator is advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure as code, including expertise in Terraform.
• Professional proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Development experience using languages like .NET or Java.
• Capability to plan and execute small engineering projects.

What You'll Do.

• Contribute to the design and architecture of both existing and upcoming cloud services within AWS/Azure.
• Develop reusable infrastructure as code following best practices.
• Empower product teams through active participation in the development of a robust developer platform.
• Engage in shaping the infrastructure roadmap.
• Play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining an observable solution.
• Ensure platform services meet specified uptime and quality of service standards.
• Support product teams in constructing services that align with established standards.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to drive continuous improvement in SRE and Cloud practices.
• Stay current with evolving technology and industry trends.
