ABOUT THE ROLEHolcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Plant Operator/Maintenance to support our plant operations in Accokeek, Maryland. This position is primarily responsible for the operation of plant processing equipment at a quarry. This position typically works from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Overtime will be required and shift times may be adjusted for business needs.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING- Using a computer or manual controls effectively operates primary or secondary crushing or other plant equipment in order to meet site production needs.
- May run a front-end loader or other material handling equipment to charge the plant with aggregate, sand and other materials.
- Maintains complete and accurate reporting of daily production
- Identifies daily and long-term potential plant issues relative to production and production goals.
- Maintains and controls minimum plant raw material inventories essential for manufacturing, production and delivery to meet production needs
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 2 years' experience (Preferably in Aggregates)
Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
Reliable transportation
2 years Mechanical & Electrical experience
Heavy Equipment Experience
Licenses Required: N/A
Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
Knowledge base in Aggregate production and quality manufacturing
Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.
Ability to lift 50lbs

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
