Plant Laborer

The position of Plant Laborer will be tasked with performing multiple duties in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a safety-first attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Shovel or wash excess material around conveyors
• General housekeeping around the plant area
• Clean working areas using high pressure water hose
• Dig and maintain drainage ditches
• Assist with scheduled maintenance and major repairs
• Perform daily inspections of the plant
• Assist with cleaning parts, material, and equipment
• Performs job functions as assigned
• Replace or assist other workers as needed or directed
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
• Adhere to all Texas Aggregates and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Report needed repairs to supervisor in a timely manner
• Ability to operate hand tools

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Have a valid Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

• Most time is spent outdoors.
• Assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions, heat, cold, wet or dry.
• May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, lubricants, solvents, etc.
• Work area may be have noise levels up to 90 dbs.
• Work areas require personal protective equipment such as, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, high visibility vest or shirt, and hearing protection.

Job Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
• Must be comfortable with heights.
• Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, grease guns, etc.
• Will be required to lift up to 50+ lbs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers.
• Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
• Ability to read, write and do simple mathematics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
